SEQC Half-Open Episode 3 – results and content

Seven of the teams that have participated in earlier Episodes of the SEQC Half-Open landed up – some in full strength, some mildly depleted – on a hot May afternoon for Episode 3. A couple of newcomers also showed up, and were slotted into teams that were a member short. At stake were the four slots for the Final of this three-month-long tournament. Here's how the teams finished in Episode 3:

1st: Wagle ki Duniya (Ajey Patil, Nitish Wagle, Pallavi Dhakne) – 239 points
2nd: Hey Prabhu Srividya (Srijit Kumar, Vidyadhar Gadgil) – 238 (just 1 point behind!)
3rd: The Vandals (Anjali Sen Gupta, Delson Roche, Rajiv D'Silva) – 210
4th: Ameya's Harem (Ameya Mardolkar, Gouthami, Madhura Chakraborty) – 205
5th: P^2V(Leroy Veloso, Parind Phadte, Viola Rodrigues) – 199
6th: Mad Men (Aditya Mallya, Sanjay Parab, Siddhant Parab) – 177
7th: Terribly Juvenile Adults (Adish Talwadker, P.S. Anand, Sunil Sardessai) – 156

That put the final standings after three Episodes in this shape (top four teams through to the Final):

1st: The Vandals (Anjali, Delson, Rajiv) – 27 stars (546.5 points)
2nd: Wagle ki Duniya (Ajey, Nitish, Pallavi) – 25* (491)
3rd: Hey Prabhu Srividya (Mahesh, Srijit, Gadgil) – 22* (469)
4th: Mad Men (Aditya, Sanjay, Sanket, Siddhant) – 17* (399)
5th: Ameya’s Harem (Ameya, Gouthami, Madhura) – 17* (350)
6th: P^2V (Leroy, Pamela, Parind, Viola) – 15* (375)
7th: Terribly Juvenile Adults (Adish, Julian, Tarun, Anand, Sunil) – 12* (284)

Ameya's Harem came awfully close. Despite having missed Episode 1, they finished in 5th place overall, tied with Mad Men on stars, but with 49 cumulative points too few. If they had got 6 points more in Episode 3, they would have beaten The Vandals to 3rd place, got themselves an additional star and squeezed into the Final! P^2V was also in with a chance till the end of the penultimate round, but were pipped by two teams during the final Connect round.
