Sunday, December 11, will see a triple header organised by SEQC at the Urban Health Centre (opposite Hospicio Hospital) in Margao.

* 10am to ~1pm: Mahaquizzer, a solo written quiz on general subjects, conducted nationwide by the Karnataka Quizzing Association (KQA)

* 2.30pm to ~5.30pm: AsiaSweep, a projected quiz on everything related to Asia, for teams of 2 members each, conducted nationwide by the KQA

* 6pm to ~8pm: Vietnam by Cycle, a presentation by Lynn Barreto Miranda on his journey around Vietnam on a bicycle

All events are open to all, and entry is free. Please bring your own pens and backing boards. More details in posts below.

On Sunday December 11, at 6pm, after the AsiaSweep quiz, Lynn Barreto Miranda will make a presentation of his bicycle trip through Vietnam, at the Urban Health Centre (opposite Hospicio Hospital) in Margao. The event should last around 1.5-2 hours. Everyone is welcome to attend, whether or not you are part of the quizzes during the day.

It was a reasonably good turnout for the India 75 Quiz, held in collaboration with the Women's Studies Programme at the Goa University on August 14. Some 35-odd participants answered the solo written prelims. The top 18 were divided into teams of 3 based on their prelims performance. These 6 teams participated in the onstage finals. Most of the remaining stayed on as audience and a wonderful audience they were too!

World Quizzing Championships (WQC) 2022

The World Quizzing Championship is an international solo written quiz, with 240 questions to be answered in 2 hours. There is a Rs 300-per-head fee (imposed by the organisers, the International Quizzing Association) After a break of several years, SEQC will be conducting this quiz in Goa.

Date: Saturday, 4th June 2022

Time: 4.00 pm. Please be present at the venue by 3.45 pm at the latest.

Format: The quiz will consist of 8 written question papers of 30 questions each, to be answered in two 1-hour sessions with a 10-minute break in between.

Venue: Radio House, Olaulim (location pin will be sent to all registrants).

Participation: Open to all. This is a solo event. Please carry your own pens and backing boards.

Fees: Rs 300 per head.

Registration is MANDATORY. Participants can register by sending an email to seqcgoa@gmail.com, with the subject line "WQC 2022", mentioning your name and phone number in the body of the mail. The deadline for registrations is midnight on Thursday 2nd June. Please note that the venue is a private house, and space is limited. We will have a cut-off of the first 15 participants to register.
