Gettin' Bizzy Wit' It - 31/Mar/2019 - Results

Another superb quiz by Rajiv, no surprises there, but one has to wonder how he maintains the quality of the questions with all the other simultaneous quizzes he is working on. So the quiz started with the crossword style prelims and the teams were formed according to the prelim scores.
The main round was designed around the deck of card, every card representing a question. The team that answers the question gets to keep the card and at the end of the quiz team with the most number of cards wins. The main quiz had 5 sections

1) Trivial Pursuit : Normal direct questions.
2) Risk : Rapid Fire questions based on a country.
3) Taboo : Same as the game of Taboo with a biz twist.
4) Pictionary : The Pictionary game with a biz twist.
5) Connect : Questions connected to a common theme.

With the new format came the barrage of doubts from the contestants, with Harsh Hegde being in the forefront. At one point it was suggested to ball gag him (The discussion quickly turned to BDSM, as is the fate of most discussions at SEQC). Finally the quiz started with Team-5, with the youngsters, quickly gaining a sizable lead with their aggressive pouncing. The other teams slowly started getting the hang of it, covering up the Team-5 gap. The pictionary, though the toughest round turned out to be one of the most entertaining with one memorable instance being where one of the the contestant under pressure started drawing facial features of the women caricature.

After half-time the competition started to really heat up with all the teams being in the flow and playing very strategically. You could tell how seriously the teams were taking the quiz is when JK got all worked up about Khaleej Times being the right answer before Rajiv explained to him that though he was looking for Gulf News he was going to consider his answer correct too. On the other end of the spectrum was the contestant Shalini Raju who personally apologized to the QM after every wrong answer by her team.

So after all the action packed quizzing it all came down to the last card with Team-5 and Team-6 tied on 19 cards each. The last question was a direct Risk question to Team-5. With a excellent show of quizzing Team-5 answered all 4 questions related Canada perfectly sealing the fate of the Quiz. So ended a night of exciting quizzing.
