MusiQuiz 2017

The Sunday Evening Quiz Club (SEQC) will host its annual MusiQuiz event on February 19, starting 5pm, at the International Centre Goa (ICG) in Dona Paula. The quiz will cover all aspects of music, Indian and international. The prelims are for solo participants, with the top 12 qualifiers to be sorted into six teams of 2 each on the spot.

QFI Invitational

The Goa edition of the QFI Invitational will be held on Sunday, February 19, starting 3pm, at the International Centre Goa (ICG) in Dona Paula. The quiz, conducted by the Chennai-based Quiz Foundation of India (QFI), will be held simultaneously in different cities of India. The top 5 city winners will be invited to participate in the QFI 30th anniversary quiz festival in Chennai in April-May. The quiz is for teams of three.

Announcing the QFI Invitational

Besides MusiQuiz at 5pm, this Sunday (February 19) will also feature the QFI Invitational at 3pm, to be held at the International Centre Goa (ICG) in Dona Paula. This is a quiz being conducted simultaneously across many cities in India by the Quiz Foundation of India, Chennai's quiz club. The top 5 city winners will be invited to participate in QFI's 30-year anniversary bash in Chennai in April-May.

The quiz will be for teams of three. Pre-registration is encouraged. To register, send an email with your team names and team member names to seqcgoa@gmail.com before midnight on Friday, February 17.

Announcing MusiQuiz 2017

Come February and the birds are flowering, the trees and bushes singing, and baaghon mein bahaar aaying. The question buzzes on the wind like a pesky fly, "Can MusiQuiz be far behind?" The short answer is "No". Sunday, February 19, ke paawan avsar par SEQC pesh karta hai, the ultimate test of your knowledge of music, also known as party-time (starts 5pm at ICG). Set, for the first time ever, by the quizzing dampatti of Anjali and Annie Sen Gupta. Vanakkam, one and all.

Master, Mind It! final – results and content

The Master, Mind It! competition, which began with 24 participants in October last year, concluded amidst fireworks on Sunday, February 5. After three rounds and 840 questions (!), here are the final results:

1st: Rajiv D'Silva – 22 points
2nd: Srijit Kumar – 19 (on tie-breaker level 1)
3rd: Ajey Patil – 19 (on tie-breaker level 1)
4th: Harsh Bhatkuly – 16

Prizes were also awarded to the other semi-finalists – Gadgil, Ameya, Sanjay, Gouthami, Delson, Viola, Sahil, and Tejan (that is, to those of this gang that were present).

SEQC February monthly

The SEQC February monthly will be held on Sunday, February 5, starting 4pm (note the changed timing). It will be held in two halves, one from 4pm to 5.30pm and the second from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Sandwiched in between will be the final of the Master, Mind It! competition that has been on since October last year.

Master, Mind It! final

Originally scheduled to be held during QuizStock, the grand finale of the Master, Mind It! competition will be sandwiched in between two halves of the SEQC monthly quiz on February 5, 2017. The four finalists battling it out will be Ajey Patil, Harsh Bhatkuly, Rajiv D'Silva and Srijit Kumar.
