Announcing 'Rite of Passage' - The SEQC Inter-College Quiz

‘Rite of Passage’, the SEQC Inter-College Quiz, will be held on Saturday, September 10, starting 2pm, at the International Centre Goa (ICG) in Dona Paula.

The quiz is for 3-member college teams (all members on one team have to be from the same college). The content will include audio, visual and video questions, and all the other bells and whistles that go into making an exciting contest. The quiz is being put together by a team from SEQC, and will be conducted by Nitish Wagle.

A written elimination round will see six teams through to the finals. There is no restrictions on the number of teams from a single institution, either in the prelims or the finals. There will be prizes on offer for the top three teams in the finals, plus a trophy for the winning team.

Participation is invited from all colleges in Goa (entry is free). Teams can pre-register by emailing seqcgoa@gmail.com, naming the three team members and the college that they will be representing. The last date for pre-registration is Friday, September 9, 2016.

Master, Mind It! first-round draw

The draw for the first round of the Master, Mind It! competition was held on Sunday, August 7. With two late entrants -- Madhura and Harsh Bhatkuly -- we have a full roster of 24 on board. These 24 were slotted, on the basis of a seeded draw, into six Matches, three to be held in Panjim on October 16 and three in Margao on October 30.

Announcing the Incredible India Quizzes 2016

The International Centre Goa (ICG) and the Sunday Evening Quiz Club (SEQC) will be hosting the Annual All-Goa INCREDIBLE INDIA QUIZZES 2016 (IIQ 2016) on Independence Day, August 15th at The International Centre Goa, Dona Paula.

The turnout in past years has been extraordinary, and this time should be no exception. As always, IIQ 2016 will consist of two quizzes – the first one for Schools, which begins at 2 pm, and the second an Open quiz, which commences at 5 pm. The focus of both quizzes will be on all things Indian. The content will include audio, visual and video questions, and all the other bells and whistles that go into making an exciting contest. Both quizzes will be conducted by SEQC founder-members, the Schools edition by Rajiv D’Silva, and the Open edition by Aniruddha Sen Gupta. Both are accomplished quizzers and experienced quizmasters.

Great prizes, including cash rewards and trophies, are being offered by the organisers for the top three teams in each of the editions. Certificates will be awarded to all participating students in the Schools edition.

Participation is invited in teams of two for the Schools edition and for individuals for the Open edition. Entry for both quizzes is free. For the Schools edition, both team members must be from the same school, from any level up to Class XII. There is no restriction to the number of teams from each school. For the Open quiz, teams of three participants will be composed on the spot, based on the points scored in the preliminary round. Participants in the Schools edition can also register for the Open edition.
