Triple Sunday September 2012 monthly -- results

We tried an experiment and ran three quizzes on Sunday, September 2, collectively called the Triple Sunday. Initially, it seemed like not such a good idea, but as people trickled in, it wasn't so bad. Eventually, with close to 20 participants for the early quiz as well as the late one, and enthusiasm retained for all three quizzes, I would deem the experiment to have been worthwhile. Next time I host a monthly, I'll probably do the same thing again. So there!

Here are the results of the three quizzes.

Quiz 1: Aperitif
1st: Amita de Sequeira, Kunal Naik, Nitish Wagle, Pranab Mukhopadhyay, Raghunandan Mysore - 60 points
2nd: Ananya Mukherjee, Anjali Sen Gupta, Mahesh Prabhu, Shaila De Souza, Srijit Kumar - 55

2nd: Ameya Mardolkar, Ashwin Mysore, Rahul Basu, Shashwat Salgaocar, Sunil Sardessai, Viola Rodrigues - 95
3rd: Blessie James, C.N. Prabhakar, Eulalia De Mello, Paola Mambro, Rajiv D'Silva, Sapna K.C., Shrijana K.C., Vijay Oli - 80
4th: Amita de Sequeira, Astrid Vas, Kunal Naik, Nitish Wagle, Pranab Mukhopadhyay, Raghunandan Mysore, Sachin Chatte, Suresh Narayan, Veenu Vas - 55 points

Quiz 3: Dessert
1st: Amita de Sequeira, Astrid Vas, Nitish Wagle, Sachin Chatte, Veenu Vas - 70 points
2nd: Blessie James, C.N. Prabhakar, Paola Mambro, Rajiv D'Silva - 65
3rd: Anjali Sen Gupta, Anoushka Chatte, Arati Fernandes, Elaine Chatte, Jyotsna Fernandes, Nikhil Shirsat, Srijit Kumar, Vikram Fernandes, Yash Pathak - 35
4th: Ameya Mardolkar, Shashwat Salgaocar, Sunil Sardessai - 25

Of course, the three-quiz format throws up some questions regarding leaderboard points. The thing is, I'd like to reward two things --  performance of course, but also staying power. Given this, I've calculated total leaderboard points for the three quizzes as if they were individual quizzes, and divided the resulting totals by 3. Any score below 1 has been upgraded to 1 point (as you would get if you attended any SEQC quiz). Above that, decimals have been rounded off as per standard norms (below .5 to the nearest lower integer; .5 and above to the nearest higher integer).
