Bring Your Own Aspirin

Shiver me timbers. The Karnataka Quizzing Association's international solo written quiz MindSweep and Mega-Whats, the national team quiz, will be held on the same day this year. Not to worry, we have qualified doctors in the SEQC fold, and some of us know a rudimentary version of CPR. We will also have head-massagers, alcoholic beverages and sensory-deprivation chambers within easy reach should it be required. But bring your own aspirin.

NWWA Mandovi Quiz

As part of the Navy Day celebrations, the Navy Wives Welfare Association (NWWA) Mandovi is organising the NWWA Mandovi Quiz, an inter-school quiz competition. Teams have been invited from schools across Goa, and 20-plus teams have been registered.

Others are welcome to attend as audience, but prior notification is required due to security reasons. If you would like to be there, please send mail to seqcgoa@gmail.com by 5pm on November 28. We will forward the list to NWWA, and only those on the list will be allowed inside the base (you'll have to bring some photo ID).

Time: Teams to log in by 9.30am (buses depart from KTC Panjim and near Betim jetty by 9.15). Prelims begin 10am. Finals scheduled for 11am.

Announcing the NWWA Mandovi Quiz

The Navy Wives Welfare Association (NWWA), INS Mandovi, Verem, is organising an inter-school quiz at the INS Mandovi base on November 30, in association with SEQC. Schools have been sent invitations, and close to 20 schools have responded positively. (As for all SEQC co-organised quizzes, 'schools'  include higher secondary institutions, with students up to Standard XII).

The quiz is for teams of four, with each school allowed to send only one team. A teacher from the school will need to accompany the team. Because of security reasons (it is a naval base, after all), as well as to allow transport arrangements to be made, prior information about the participating students and the accompanying teacher has to be given to the organisers from NWWA.
