Where there's a wheel...

A review of the SEQC July 2009 quiz by Anjali

To see Luis, our brand-new QM, in action, who would believe that he had just cycled over 25 km. No, not to get to the quiz… but as part of a day-long cycling tour! Bright and fresh, he just rolled up his sleeves and got right down to it. He launched into a well-prepared audio-visual quiz, the second such in SEQC’s not-so-short-life – even as certain other participants of the cycling tour peered through a pain-killer induced haze, wishing they had oiled their joints as well as their bicycles!

The break featured an interesting performance by a group of young actors, directed by Hartman D’Souza. Two poems, about man’s greed and what it is doing to us and our world, were enacted with great power.

The questions came fast and quick. The teams were more or less evenly matched in the first couple of rounds. Even though other teams, especially Rajiv’s and Gadgil's, made a spirited attempt to wrest top spot, slowly, Annie’s team pulled ahead and came out tops.

About 30 people had turned up this rain-soaked evening. The body count, happily, has been going up!
