Everything you didn't know about sex, and were afraid you would get asked at a quiz...

That was some quiz. Venita began the quiz by saying that although it was titled the 'Sex and Love Quiz', it was mostly about sex, and that set the tone for the rest of the evening. From there on everybody laid the innuendo and double entendre on so thick we had to wade through it to get to the snack table. We ought to have more of these.

The Sex and Love Quiz

QM: Venita Coelho

1st: Akshay Nayak, Paul Gatward, Reginald Goveas, Savio Figueiredo - (85)
2nd: Abhishek Jha, Kanchan Desai, Rajiv D'Silva - (65)
3rd: Anjali Sen Gupta, Pooja Kamath, Sylvia Kerkar, Tallulah D'Silva - (60)
4th: [Janice Figueiredo, Luis Dias, Sachin Chatte, Samrat Bannerjee], [Aniruddha Sen Gupta, Mahesh Prabhu, Paola Mambro, Sanjay Sinha] & [Amit Shet, Arti Das, Kaushik Ramanathan, Leroy Veloso] - (50)

The updated points table is here.

Where there's a wheel...

A review of the SEQC July 2009 quiz by Anjali

To see Luis, our brand-new QM, in action, who would believe that he had just cycled over 25 km. No, not to get to the quiz… but as part of a day-long cycling tour! Bright and fresh, he just rolled up his sleeves and got right down to it. He launched into a well-prepared audio-visual quiz, the second such in SEQC’s not-so-short-life – even as certain other participants of the cycling tour peered through a pain-killer induced haze, wishing they had oiled their joints as well as their bicycles!

The break featured an interesting performance by a group of young actors, directed by Hartman D’Souza. Two poems, about man’s greed and what it is doing to us and our world, were enacted with great power.

The questions came fast and quick. The teams were more or less evenly matched in the first couple of rounds. Even though other teams, especially Rajiv’s and Gadgil's, made a spirited attempt to wrest top spot, slowly, Annie’s team pulled ahead and came out tops.

About 30 people had turned up this rain-soaked evening. The body count, happily, has been going up!

Let's talk about Sex, baby!

A whole quiz on sex. Need we say more?
The riot police have been informed. Bouncers will be on standby. ID cards will be checked for proof of age. And smelling salts will be kept within easy reach.

The Sex Quiz

Date: 12th July 2009
Time: 5.30 pm
QM: Venita Coelho
Flavour: Sex, sex and a little bit of love.
Venue: Casa Coelho, Moira.
How to get there: (From stream-of-conciousness directions by Venita herself). "On the Highway heading to Mapusa... Hotel Greenpark... that's an ugly hotel and there's nothing green about it except the paint... next cross roads... take the right towards Aldona... why does one always have to locate Moira by mentioning Aldona? What do the Aldonkars have that we don't?... Take the immediate left... travel across lots of fields... ah look at that grass, how gorgeous it is!... over a little bridge...stay on the main road... Church and football field on the right... that white of the church in this weather looks amazing... stay on the main road... it dips down a bit... on your left is a cross... take the right directly opposite it...hmmm a small winding village lane... about five houses down is Casa Coelho... is that a pack of wolves? has it been that hard a monsoon?! - ah she warned us she has six dogs..."
Who can participate: This will be the first SEQC quiz with participation restrictions. You have to be above 18 to participate. But if you can lie about your age convincingly, then come anyway. We are easily fooled.

When it rains, we quiz...

SEQC's second quiz of the second year will be held this weekend. Luis Dias will gingerly step into his QMing shoes for the first time while the rest of us try and unsettle him by being rowdy. Should be fun!
