Announcing QuizStock: the SEQC Festival of Quizzing

Before other, perhaps more worthy, quiz groups grab this name, we have swooped in and claimed it for ourselves.

So here it is: the inaugural QuizStock, the SEQC Festival of Quizzing!

We are starting in a relatively small way, with three quizzes spread across the weekend of the 19th and 20th of January. The QM for the entire weekend will be Aniruddha 'Annie' Sen Gupta. The festival venue will be the International Centre Goa (ICG), SEQC's partner in all things quizzy. All the quizzes are open for all, and entry is free. Teams can be registered in advance by e-mailing seqcgoa@gmail.com, or made up on the spot. Here's the detailed schedule:

Saturday January 19

2pm-4.30pm: Annie's 2012
A quiz on things that came to the QM's attention in the year gone by. An everyone-participates event (teams will be made up on the spot from all those who turn up).

5pm-8.30pm: Goa Open
SEQC's biggest annual open quiz. For teams of two. Prize money stuff!

Sunday January 20

9.30am-1.30pm: So You Think You're A Film Buff?
A quiz on movies -- Hollywood, Bollywood, regional, international, extra-terrestrial. For teams of four. Hopefully some prizes, if we can round them up.
